We were very lucky to have a special friend of the show come out to the Wurtz family block party last weekend. My Home 2.0 community member Michele Alvaro, of MHA Photography, captured dozens of gorgeous images of the summer fun in Abington, PA:
I was pretty happy with how my Wurtz party snapshots turned out, but seeing a whole new set from another perspective -- especially one as gifted and artistic as Michele's -- is a real treat.
Michele took some beautiful photos of the Buckley block party last fall, and I think she's gotten even better since then. Michele was featured in a Today Show segment two years ago, in which she got some tips for young women starting their own businesses, and even more importantly, the validation she needed at the time, to realize she had the talent to chase her dream:
Michele has been a fan of our show since the very beginning, and it's been really gratifying to see her fledgling photography business grow these past few months, just as My Home 2.0 has. Thanks for sharing, Michele -- keep up the great work!

THANKS JIM! I really appreciate all the compliments and my photos in their own light. It was awesome photographing the block party this time around. I still have more photos a coming because last night - due to storm and Comcast cable - my internet went down not to mention the horrific slow upload speed. I WISH I could get FIOS in my apartment building! I am so jealous of all the families now... LOL! I WANT FIOS! ;)
Thanks again!

That is a really cool piece on Michele. Wonderful photos — capturing a really fun day. But boy was it hot!! However, the opportunity to catch up with everyone and meet Lloyd's mother and grandmother as a bonus was worth it!

Thanks, Jerry! It was indeed really cool to meet Lloyd's family -- I'd missed meeting his Mom at the Kaczor block party last fall, what a sweet lady!
Getting to hear the full-on studio version of The JBJBs' Verizon song was pretty great, too, especially after hearing the early "demo" version of it when we were shooting your episode. Did I detect a little Velvet Underground influence on the guitars and tambourine in the new version you played at the party? Very cool! Can't wait to hear more tunes from you and Jules.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to apply more moisturizer to my still sun-fried neck! ;)

Just wanted to let everyone know - that while surfing the awesome web I found the place to reconstruct my main Website - and well it is done already - well it still needs tweaks regarding uploading photos (NEED FIOS) but it is up and running for anyone who'd like to see.

Thanks again to My Home 2.0 for being so awesome!

The new site looks great, Michele! That's cool that you've got a little cross-promo thing going on with Lora Kaczor's new hair salon, too...savvy! Good luck, hope we get to see you at another block party soon!
