Good friend of My Home 2.0 and famed Geek Cali Lewis is planning a road trip across America. She and Neil are going all in and buying an RV to live in the months they are on the trip. You can read more about her trip at www.bigtrip.tv.
Well my did come anywhere close to the trip Cali has planned, thus I am naming my vacation The "Not So Big Trip". Don't be fooled by the name; we did cover nearly 5000 miles on our trip. I started my trip in Chicago where I met my family and joined them on the road. We visited some great places on our journey including the Sears Tower, Mount Rushmore, and Yellowstone Park. Since I loooove to eat I found myself spending alot of time (and money) trying out the popular foods in each town. Like the pizza in Chicago from Lou Maltani's. I think everyone should visit Chicago at least once in their lifetime just for the pizza!
Besides the food, the scenary traveling west is spectacular. We made a stop off in Bear Country U.S.A. in South Dakota where live roam around as you drive through. Unlike the traditional drive through petting zoo, this park has bears. LOTS of bears. It was quite a rush seeing a bear rumage through the back of a truck in fron of us!
Being the Guru that I am, I had to 2.0 my journal and documentation of the trip. Check out the interactive map below to read my log and view pictures as we journeyed along! Zoom in to see and read more details, and click and drag the map to move around the country. Also Check out all the pictures Here.
