October is national Energy Awareness Month. Here at My Home 2.0, we
bless the families with devices, and computers, and all sorts of power
hungry gadgets. Sometimes, however, the gurus get so "consumed" with our projects that we
overlook the energy demand of our great projects!
Well this month I will be showcasing energy technology available on the market today, and projects I've worked on that help bring Energy Awareness to You, the Consumer.
This morning I woke up and began laughing hysterically. Odd, I know, but the reason was I was reflecting on the Porter family and remembered they had a bunch of chickens. Well it dawned on me JUST then that the name FeED for the system we installed in their home is perfect because of the family's love for animals, especially chickens!
At any rate, allow me to continue with the overview of the system. In this article I will describe the Color Kenetics Lighting System, Home Theater PC, and Emotion Detection Software.
Here at My Home 2.0, we like to make dreams come true for the families, and sometimes this leads to us Guru's creating some interesting devices and systems. Individually, the Guru's have created projects that some of you thought were interesting, phenomenal, or just plain unimaginable. However all of our projects to date have been solo or two-man team projects.

So the burning question of the hour is what happens when you combine FiOS with the copacetic craftsmanship of Brian, the eclectic enumeration of Lloyd, and the poetic passion of Alison Lewis?
Prepare to be "fed" a delectible meal of ingenuity, design, and engineering...
So my Mom asked me if I would build her a website for her 7th Grade Math Class. I agreed, and no less than an hour later she sent me a four page document outlining each page she wanted on her site!
I guess she assumed I would say yes (or knew that I didn't have a choice) and prepared the content for her site. So within a few hours we had the site up and running. That was the easy part...
The tough part is making sure all the kids are performing at the top of thier game!
Before I get into the second article of the Hack-a-Bat 101, I would like to address the rumors that have been going around stating that I am on the men's gymnastic team. Some of you have seen the video of me doing a flip at the Phillies game. Yes, Olympic gymnasts Shawn Johnson and Paul Hamm and their coach were there to witness my incredible skills, but-contrary to popular belief- I was not asked to be on the team. I would, however, like to say that all the athletes from every country are doing an amazing job, and it is inspiring to see their hard work and dedication. :)
Now back to our regularly scheduled lesson...
I've received some interesting comments about the Hack-a-Bat including "Wow thats a really great idea, but there is no way I could ever build anything like that", or "I would need three degrees in engineering to figure that one out!", or my favorite, "man if I could build that, I would be a millionaire!"
Well I want to help you "get a grip" on the hack-a-bat by breaking the project down into its core components. I will attempt to help those of you out there itching to hack-your-bat. This series of articles will give you a basic understanding of how the circuitry and software works, as well as the geometry, calculus and physics involved with the project.
My family and I decided to go on a road trip across America. We traveled over 5000 miles meeting great people and visiting some great destinations. I always learn new things about my self, the country and others when I travel like did you know the official name of our highway system is the Dwight D. Eisenhower National System of Interstate and Defense Highways?? Yeh. Neither did I...

Verizon recently annouced the immediate availability of FiOS TV to business customers. This means that you will not only be able to enjoy that great picture at home, but also when you are out watching the All-Star game next week. Speaking of baseball, has anyone noticed the homerun frenzy Ryan Howard has been on lately?? ;-)

The energetic, fun, and FiOS lovin' Irving family is back! Me and my fellow Guru's gave Joelle Irving her dream dance studio right in her house. Since then, Joelle has been planning how she wants to utilize the new space and great new equipment to start back teaching like she did before. I can't wait to improve my already incredible dance skills... ;)

With Teddy going off to a lucky Ebay winner soon, I reflect on a project that started with an idea to mod a nostagic piece, and has spawned some interesting ideas and projects that some of you out there may find interesting. I can't wait to see someone take Teddy's talking head, and put it on anamatronic body...

Now before you go jumping the gun on the lab name, we are not involved in any illegal activities...
MET-Lab stands for Music Entertainment Lab, and its where alot of interesting projects are born including the brains for Teddy...
Yesterday the My Home 2.0 Crew and I presented a sneak-peek of a cool, baseball-themed, do-it-yourself project to Philadelphia Phillies MVP slugger Ryan Howard. He also hooked me and some Little Leaguers up with some batting pointers!

I was asked if I wanted to throw the Ceremonial first pitch at the Phillies Cubs Game Sunday. Without hesitation, I replied with an ecstatic YES!
Check out the pictures and videos from the Guru's practice session...
The first season of My Home 2.0, you witnessed us Gurus do some really cool upgrades. Well as we continue with the upgrades, it is important that we stay creative, innovative, and of course fun! With that in mind...
Update!
While geekin’ out on the computer yesterday, I got a call from a
Pittsburgh number. I answer, and to my surprise, it was Mike Zaharko!
He and his dad were on their way...
